About Dem Dawgs
Sue and Paul's joint musical quest began in a band at Penn State with award-winning, Grammy-nominated, blues musician Mark Ross, and they have kept jamming as a duo, trio, and as a full band ever since...though, at the core, the Moondawgs is an acoustic duo.
Paul's stylized guitar rhythms and intricate, melodic leads, and Sue’s fingerpicking and rhythmic guitar and ukulele playing mesh synergistically, creating diverse layers and textures. Paul's vocals and harmonica augment their sound, while Sue's rich harmonies and lead vocals spin webs in their music. The duo is joined frequently by Erik, a percussionist who went to Berkley School of Music and studied under multi-award-winning percussionist Walfredo Reyes Jr., from the band Chicago. He has been creating tasty, complex rhythms, and banging on all kinds of percussion to all types of music for years.
"They play some damn fine tunes" and their influences include Clapton, JJ Cale, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Allman Bros., Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Santana, Stones, CSN&Y, Dylan, Beatles, Cheryl Crow, Grateful Dead, George Erza, Amos Lee, Amy Winehouse, and the list goes on...some obscure and many known, with some standards thrown in. The Dawgs take the songs you know and love and make them their own. The tunes span from the 60's to today… Whether it’s blues, rock, country, jazz, standards, or folk, kicking it up or laying back, Moondawgs always deliver.
Based out of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Moondawgs play at all types of venues: bars, restaurants, parties, fairs, community events and weddings. Reach out today, we'd love to play for you.
